Bronze Plate | American Folk Museum

NYC, 2010. American Folk Art Museum, Williams + Tsien, 2001. Some inspirational words on their website. Check out the "of interest" section, Objects and Slowness. Their process and their inspiration is a reminder of the way things can be when you set limits. Focus on detail and make it a broad brush in their own way. A rare collective.

Paley Park

NYC, 2010. Zion + Breen, 1967. So peaceful. So well proportioned. Human in scale. Intense focus to drown out distraction.

Seagram

NYC, 2010. Mies Van Der Rohe, 1958. I always find myself sitting at the NW corner of the plaza. From just above the sidewalk an overview of the pedestrians is key. In the periphery I can see the Seagram and Lever House across the street. The way the buildings are set back from each other just makes sense. The fountain is glass-like and calm.

The Moon

CHGO, 2011. Montrose beach. After living in Chicago since 2005, and visiting the city often for 10 years prior, I finally made it to the lake in winter. I can't believe it took this long.
