Patterns
CHGO, 2009. Gary Comer Youth Center by John Ronan. Quilting, DNA, strata come to mind.
The bright hues really make a presence in the neighborhood.

Mirror
CHGO, 2009. The new river walk structures/canopies under the movable bridges. There's a reflective surface at the upper most part that is quite unnoticeable at first unless you stop and look up. Although an improvement, it's still a pretty brutal river walk, but that's CHGO. None of the human-ness of say, the Milwaukee river walk.

Hadid
Zaha Hadid's temporary pavilion in Millennium Park, CHGO, today. I'm not all that impressed just yet, but I'll give it some time and a few visits to sink in. Its amazing to have these two pavilions within walking distance from the office, I've been able to keep checking in on them and see how people are interacting with them. As much as I respect UN Studio and Hadid, I have to honestly say I expected more- true interaction/adjustability, honesty in materials...? What do you think?

Fluorescent Star | OMA / Studio Gang
CHGO, IIT Student Center. By Rem Koolhaas's OMA. The first time I was in an OMA building was at the Prada store in Manhattan in 2001 when it was still under construction. I discretely walked into the construction site and walked around snapping a few photos until an OMA representative kicked me out, and took my film. For my trouble he gave me a tour. This one's right in CHGO and I've been several times, each time I appreciate it more.
